This is my plan: design album artwork for a single worthy of attention each and every day. This is ambitious. But it’s crazy enough to work. I hope I can share some good music that inspires me and capture the mood / essence of the song in a CD cover sized piece of artwork.

The one to kick it off is Flying Lotus – Heat Wave 2. I got it off of the compilation “Scion A/V Presents: Blu Jemz Beat Machine”. It’s an interesting minute and a half brimming with shuffling, layered percussion. A distorted, arena-sized thump keeps the floating ethereal synths locked to the vicinity of the earth. The warbles, sound effects and other audible goodies hold it down until the fat synthy bass comes in the last third.

It’s the type of track that momentarily transports you.
